Dutch Trig® for arborists

Why?

Why would an Arborist incorporate Dutch Trig® in his or her package of tree services? In addition to all of the benefits mentioned in the Dutch Trig® for Cities page and the Dutch Trig® for Home owners page, vaccinating elm trees to prevent Dutch elm disease offers arborists a chance to increase their visibility among their customers as a 'tree doctor' or tree specialist.

Easy, safe, fast

Vaccinating elm trees with Dutch Trig® is quick, easy, environmentally safe and every spring offers the arborist a chance to visit their customers for a yearly inspection and injection of the elm tree(s). This creates a unique contact point between the customer and their arborist. Many arborists have found that while on the property to inspect elms they are often asked to provide additional work in the form of pruning, fertilization and IPM for other trees and plants on the property.

Cost

Since Dutch Trig® can be applied simply and quickly, the costs of application can be kept low. Arborists can now offer lower priced treatments on a yearly basis for private home owners, and create 'evenly spread budgets' for cities and corporate clients. These advantages translate into an easier sales process when compared with competitive fungicide treatments that are much more expensive and labor intensive.

Timing of treatment

Although May is a very busy time of year for arborists, the ease and speed of application of Dutch Trig® (100-200 trees a day in one location is feasible!!) ensures that this work can be scheduled along with other services and treatments that arborists must provide in this season.

Offer a choice

Arborists now have the possibility of offering their customers more environmentally-friendly disease management options! See the chemical-biological comparison table!

What is needed?

In order to increase the efficacy of Dutch Trig® and maximize the protective effect of the treatment, training in the recognition of Dutch elm disease, the use of the application tool and the handling of the vaccine is very important. Every year the distributors arrange for at least one or two training seminars in which new Dutch Trig® users will receive all the relevant information and gain the necessary experience in the use and application of Dutch Trig®.
